LIYCY Cable for Industrial Signal and Control Applications

LIYCY cable is a flexible, copper-braid-screened cable with PVC insulation and a PVC outer sheath. ETK Kablo manufactures LIYCY for low-voltage signal, measurement and control circuits that require overall electromagnetic screening. Its Class 5 stranded copper conductors support installation flexibility, while the tinned copper braid helps reduce electromagnetic interference when correctly terminated.

Select the required conductor count and cross-section from the product tables on this page. For project pricing, send the cable size, total length and delivery requirements to our team.

This product belongs to ETK Kablo’s braid-screened signal control cable range. Choose standard LIYCY when the specification requires PVC insulation, layered core stranding and an overall copper braid.

LIYCY Cable Sizes and Product Selection

Specify LIYCY by conductor count and conductor cross-section. For example, LIYCY 4 × 0.5 mm² means four conductors, each with a nominal cross-section of 0.5 mm². It does not mean four pairs.

The Types tables list individual constructions with their part numbers, approximate outside diameters, copper weights, cable weights and packing lengths. Check the exact row for the required size, since available conductor counts vary by cross-section.

  • Match the conductor count to the circuit and any required spare cores.
  • Select the cross-section according to the electrical design, circuit length and voltage-drop requirements.
  • Use the outside diameter to select compatible glands, connectors and routing space.
  • Confirm the electrical rating and packing length for the selected construction when ordering.

Where Is LIYCY Cable Used?

LIYCY can suit fixed signal and control installations where the equipment specification calls for a screened PVC cable. Typical applications include:

  • Industrial measurement and monitoring circuits
  • Control panels and electronic equipment wiring
  • Sensor and actuator connections
  • HVAC and building automation controls
  • Process-control and data-acquisition circuits
  • Machine signal connections in production facilities

For communication systems with defined impedance, capacitance or protocol requirements, check compatibility with the equipment specification. The LIYCY designation alone does not establish suitability for every industrial network.

Copper Braid Screening and Installation Conditions

The overall tinned copper braid surrounds the assembled cable core. It helps limit electromagnetic coupling between signal circuits and nearby interference sources. However, effective screening also depends on cable routing, screen continuity, bonding and termination.

Keep signal routes appropriately separated from power circuits and follow the equipment manufacturer’s screen-termination instructions. A screened cable supports the installation’s EMC design but does not guarantee interference-free operation.

Class 5 conductors provide flexibility during installation. They do not, by themselves, qualify the cable for drag chains, repeated torsion or continuous robotic movement. Confirm those requirements separately.

The UV-resistant PVC sheath is one part of the environmental specification. For outdoor or underground routes, also confirm moisture exposure, temperature, mechanical protection and installation conditions before selecting the cable.

LIYCY Compared with Related Signal Cables

CableMain Difference from Standard LIYCY
LIYYPVC-insulated and PVC-sheathed construction without an overall copper braid screen.
LIYCY-TP/TTConductors arranged as twisted pairs or triads with an overall copper braid screen.
LI2YCYSolid polyethylene conductor insulation, with an overall copper braid and PVC outer sheath.
LIHCHHalogen-free insulation and outer sheath with an overall copper braid screen.

These products address different material and conductor-arrangement requirements. Select the specified construction rather than treating the product codes as interchangeable.

LIYCY Cable Manufacturer and Quotation Requirements

ETK Kablo manufactures LIYCY as part of its signal control cable portfolio. Distributors, panel builders, equipment manufacturers and project buyers can submit their required sizes for technical evaluation and quotation.

LIYCY cable price depends on conductor count, cross-section, copper content, order quantity and packing requirements. To receive a quotation for the correct construction, provide:

  • Cable designation and size, such as LIYCY 4 × 0.5 mm²
  • Total quantity in metres and required packing lengths
  • Operating voltage and installation conditions
  • Required standards, fire classification and supporting documents
  • Delivery destination and requested delivery date

Frequently Asked Questions About LIYCY Cable

What is LIYCY cable?

LIYCY is a flexible signal and control cable with PVC-insulated copper conductors, an overall copper braid screen and a PVC outer sheath. ETK Kablo’s construction uses Class 5 conductors and tinned copper braiding.

Is LIYCY a shielded cable?

Yes. LIYCY uses an overall tinned copper braid screen. Shielded and screened describe the same electrical-screening function in this context.

Is standard LIYCY a twisted-pair cable?

No. Standard ETK Kablo LIYCY uses conductors stranded in layers. Specify LIYCY-TP/TT when the circuit requires twisted pairs or triads. Its overall braid does not individually screen each pair or triad.

What is the difference between LIYCY and LIYY?

LIYCY includes an overall copper braid screen, whereas LIYY is unscreened. Both use PVC insulation and a PVC outer sheath. The circuit specification and electromagnetic environment determine whether screening is required.

Is LIYCY halogen-free or fire resistant?

Standard LIYCY uses PVC and is not halogen-free. The listed IEC 60332-1-2 flame-retardancy test does not establish circuit integrity during fire. Specify a separate cable construction when the project requires halogen-free materials or defined fire resistance.

What voltage rating should I specify for LIYCY?

Confirm the operating and test voltages for the selected conductor cross-section with the technical team. Do not apply one voltage rating to every LIYCY size or substitute test voltage for operating voltage.

Does LIYCY have a specific CPR classification?

The LIYCY designation alone does not establish a CPR Euroclass. If your project requires one, state the classification in your enquiry and request the applicable Declaration of Performance for the selected product.
